Project Coastal Critical Zone Network

Collaborative environmental research processes transforming landscapes and fluxes between land and sea

NSF PROJECT CZN RESEARCH

CZN (Coastal Critical Zone Network)

Developing a fully collaborative, multi-disciplinary study at a network of sites to understand and predict current and future changes in coupled hydrological, ecological, geomorphological, and biogeochemical (HEGB) system.

Coastal Critical Zone Monitoring Sites

CZ works to quantify the coupled processes and feedbacks that govern the HEGB transformations in the coastal critical zone to understand how shifts in the transition zone will translate to changes in cycling, fluxes, and storage of critical elements at the land-sea margin.

HIGHLIGHTED PROJECTS

With over 250 affiliated faculty at the University of Delaware and our in-state and regional partner institutions, we serve as a hub for collaboration and interconnection.

Many of our affiliates also direct other research institutes and centers investigating a wide range of environmental questions.
